Recommendation 4: Antibiotics should not be used to treat patients with diarrhea.
Recommendation 5: Antibiotics should not be used to treat patients with severe diarrhea or vomiting.
Recommendation 6: Antimicrobials may be used to treat patients with diarrhea when the is not associated with an underlying illness.
Recommendation 7: Antimicrobials should be used to treat patients with severe diarrhea who are not receiving antibiotic therapy.
