Jack Pitcher is a lively forward whose pace and agressive running
can cause defences no end of problems, but his main assett is the
happy knack of putting the ball into the net with consistency. His
decision to join City from Southern League Premier rivals Clevedon
Town is a huge boost for the club, and together with the addition
of keeper Kevin Sawyer suggests the club are close to assembling
a squad capable of a serious promotion push next season. Pitcher
has a proven goalscoring record and he quickly impressed City fans
with his work rate and sharpness. Pitcher quickly wrote his own
footnote in City history when he grabbed all five goals in beating
Yate Town in the FA Cup in September, a feat which saw him win the
player of the round award for the 1st Qualifying stage and a VIP
trip to the Wembley Final.

Jack started his senior career in the Gloucestershire County League
with Winterbourne United who he helped to promotion into the Hellenic
League, but was soon spotted by Mangotsfield United who snapped
him up in September 2002. He soon found his scoring feet at Southern
League level with five goals in his first five games, and managed
to score heavily and earn a two year contract despite finding a
regular starting spot hard to come by as the Bristol club then boasted
an array of forward talent. Pitcher headed for Clevedon Town in
search of regular first team football in July 2004, and in three
seasons with the Seasiders established himself as a fixture in the
divisional top scorers lists. His goals contributed greatly to Clevedon's
Western Division championship season in 2006, and he continued to
impress as his 20 goals in a struggling side helped keep the club
up the following season.
