Matt Rose's return to Gloucester City is another major summer transfer coup for Tim Harris, not least because he was persuaded to leave Weston-super-Mare where he was skipper to drop down a division into the SLP. In doing so he links back up with Tim Harris who signed him previously as manager of Newport County, and returns to City where he spent one previous season. Rose is an energetic and solid defensive player who shows great grit and determination, whether playing in his usual central defensive role or in midfield. During that time Weston survived the cut to take their place in the new Conference South, Rose being handed the captain's armband before swapping the North Somerset's survival struggles at that level to return to City. | |
