A difficult defensive opponent for any striker Robison has a wealth of non-league experience behind him and although now heading into the veteran category he is still quick and smart enough to get in the way of most things thrown at his side. Robison's arrival at Meadow Park from Merthyr was not a huge surprise as City boss Tim Harris had signed the player for the Valleys side just weeks before Harris left to take over the Gloucester reigns in January 2006.

The closeness between Harris and Robison and their previous history together at Newport made the player's sudden departure from the club even more of a surprise. Robison had featured in pre-season games before picking up a shoulder injury in a friendly against his previous club Newport County. That kept him out of the team for the opening matches of the campaign but just as Robison was returning to fitness with a loan match with Cirencester United he seems to have had some sort of disagreement with Harris that led to the player leaving the club without playing a competitive match for Gloucester. Robison did agree to make an equally surprising return to make a hugely impressive debut against Tiverton in a hugely dramtic FA Trophy replay, proving solid in defence and then coolly stroking home the first spot-kick in a penalty shoot-out which saw City through. Although City retained his registration that return sadly proved to be a one off and Robison turned down several other offers from Southern League clubs to stay closer to home with Hellenic Premier side Carterton Town.

Robison began his career playing in local football in Cornwall before an RAF career took him into a new area and he spent several years with Witney, Trowbridge and Weston. His links with Tim Harris began when they linked up at Newport County, Robison playing a central role in winning the Exiles promotion from the Southern League Midland Division and going on to captain the club in a four year spell in Gwent. Robison is still with the RAF based in the Swindon area.
