A highly promising young player who impressed on first joining
the club at the end of August. Jamie is a versatile left sided player
who can play in midfield or on the wing, but settled into the Tigers
side mainly at left-back. His lank Robbie Savage locks belie a solid
tackler with an impressively cultured left-foot who can provide
a great threat with his dead-ball delivery as well as his energetic
forward running down the flank. Having been released by a Premiership
club in the summer Jamie knows good displays for City will place
him firmly in the shop window but despite having signed a one year
deal with Gloucester Price was released and allowed to leave for
Worcester by the end of October. Whilst there seems little doubt
the club wouldn't wantto stand in the way of a player moving up
thel eagues the decision to release him is doubtless also influenced
by poor recent results and the need to trim the wage bill after
a premature cup exit. Whilst Price showed plenty of quality he seemed
to fade out of games and didn't help his case with a rash tackle
earning a red card in a legue game against Hemel.

Price started out in the schoolboy ranks at Cheltenham Town but
good displays there saw him snapped up by Birmingham City at the
age of 15 in a deal which could have been worth up to £100,000
for the Whaddon Road side. Price progressed well in the Brum youth
side, being selected for the Wales youth team at u-17 and u-19 level,
featuring in the same squad as Gareth Bale - now at Spurs. Unfortunately
Jamie found it tough to break into the St. Andrews squad and was
unable to secure himself a pro contract there. Made several Conference
appearances on loan at Tamworth, but had an unsettled summer searching
for a new club after being released by Birmingham in June 2007.
Pre-season training spells with Hereford, Yeovil and Swansea City
ended without a firm offer, but at City Price has a further chance
to impress.
